The footage shows a Giant Panda doing a handstand and urinating. At the same time the panda kicks the tree with his left foot. According to Panda experts, by urinating on the tree the panda is marking his territory to attract female pandas. © Anzihe Nature Reserve RID 3878

Say no to coal in Palawan. Say yes to renewable energy investments around the world. http://ift.tt/1lqlpMI Palawan, situated at the heart of the coral triangle, has been deemed an icon under threat from fossil fuel’s due to the planned construction of a coal fired power plant on the island. With the current plan being opposed by numerous groups, WWF lends its voice to the people opposing this dirty, expensive fossil fuel option to support the cause that we can have 100% clean, cheaper, renewable energy for all. You can help save polar bears: http://bit.ly/Z5ngAG Gert Polet and Geoff York of WWF demonstrate the processing of the samples collected from polar bear footprints. For the first time, scientists working in partnership with WWF have isolated polar bear DNA from a track left in the snow. This method could make polar bear monitoring much less expensive in the future. Follow the story: http://ift.tt/1uwHxIX RID 3868

We’re celebrating a year since Betino’s birth at the Flying Squad in Indonesia’s Tesso Nilo National Park! This lively little female calf was born on Aug. 9, 2013 to a critically endangered Sumatran elephant trained to help reduce human-elephant conflicts. WWF works to reduce conflict between humans and elephants, save Sumatra’s forests, and stop wildlife crime. Read more about the fantastic work of WWF-Indonesia’s elephant Flying Squad and the newest addition here: http://www.bit.ly/wwf-elephant RID 3864
